Top Grain Leather. Upholstered in premium mid-weight top grain leather — supple to the touch, breathable, and built to last through years of daily use.
The 9188 EWT500 is the tall version of the same streamlined design — clean panel-stitched back, padded pillow arms, single-panel seat — with a longer seat and extended footrest so taller users get full leg support instead of hanging off the end. Rated to 500 lbs and sized for roughly 6' to 6'7".
Triple-Motor System. Two 400 lb motors drive the footrest and the lift together — 800 lbs of combined force, far beyond the 500 lb capacity, so the motors never work at their limit. Twin lift rods carry that load on both sides of the frame rather than through a single point. A third motor powers the backrest independently, so you can set the back and the footrest separately.
Engineered for heavier daily use:
- 45-density high-resilience foam — an all-foam build specified for the 500 lb models, chosen for how it holds its shape under heavier weight over years of use.
- Upgraded hardwood frame — redesigned for greater structural stability and a longer service life.
- Reinforced steel frame — rebuilt for heavy-duty daily use.
- 66% thicker footrest steel plate — up from 3 mm to 5 mm (0.12" to 0.2") vs. the 1st generation, for significantly greater footrest stability under heavier legs. Extended, it now sits about 2" (5 cm) higher than the 1st generation.
- 20,000-cycle tested — the lift mechanism is tested to 20,000 full operations.
Reclines to 165°. That is a deliberate engineering decision at this capacity. A full 180° flat position under 500 lbs puts lasting strain on the mechanism, and the deeper the recline, the less securely the body is held. At 165° the chair stays stable, supports you through the whole range, and keeps the mechanism working the way it should for years.
