The 9188 is the model we have sold the most of, and the one we have had the longest to get right. It is sized for the middle of the range — roughly 5'2" to 5'9", rated to 300 lbs — with a deep seat, a classic silhouette, and a dual-motor system that moves the backrest and footrest independently.

18 W fast-charge USB-A and USB-C — enough to charge a phone or tablet properly, not just trickle it.
Externally replaceable charging module — the port unit releases from the outside of the chair, so it can be swapped without taking anything apart.
Tuned for longer sitting. We reworked both the seat and the backrest based on what owners told us about sitting for hours rather than minutes. The aim was not the softest possible cushion, but a balance that works for a wider range of body types.
Upgraded heating, across the seat as well as the back. The heating element itself was upgraded, and heat now covers a large area of the seat cushion rather than the backrest alone — so the warmth reaches more of you.
S-spring lumbar support. We added S-springs through the lumbar section, so the lower back is held rather than left to sink. It is the part of the chair you notice least when it is right, and most when it is missing.
Infinite positions including a full 180° lay-flat, 4-mode back massage, and lift assist that helps make the transition to standing easier and more controlled.

Who is the 9188 designed for?
The 9188 is our standard medium-size lift chair, designed for users between 5'2" and 5'9" tall, up to 300 lbs, with a 23" wide seat. It's the best fit for average body types, with lumbar heat and vibration massage included.
Does the 9188 lay flat? Can I sleep in it?
Yes. Dual motors adjust the backrest and footrest independently, reclining to a nearly 180° lay-flat position suitable for overnight sleeping.
How many boxes does the 9188 ship in? Is assembly difficult?
The 9188 ships in 2 boxes (Box 1: 28.9" x 15.4" x 30.3"; Box 2: 30.3" x 24.6" x 21.3"), which may arrive on different days — don't worry if they don't show up together. Assembly is tool-free and takes just a few simple steps: the backrest slides onto the base and the cables plug together.
How much space does the 9188 need?
Fully assembled, the 9188 measures 42.5"H x 32.5"W x 39"D. It ships unassembled in 2 boxes, so doorways aren't a concern — each box fits easily through standard doors. When placing the chair, it needs at least 18" of wall clearance to fully recline — we recommend leaving about 20" for comfortable everyday use.

My Mom’s new house has a small living room & she didn’t want the usual enormous recliner taking over the room, so the small lift chair size is absolutely perfect. Delivery date was as promised & since my husband reports that the assembly was a breeze, he had it all ready for her on move-in day. She is thrilled to have it & had a very short learning curve learning to operate all the functions. The chenille upholstery is beautiful & so soft & comfortable!
Okay so I was a little nervous buying recliners without seeing them in person, but WOW am I glad I took the chance. The creamy white fabric is so clean and soft, I honestly had to double-check that they were used.
Sat down in one for the first time and literally did not get up for two hours. The back support is chef's kiss — hits perfectly at the neck, shoulders, and lower back. Hit the button, footrest glides out, and you are DONE. Couch potato mode: activated. 😂
They look so good in my study too — the warm wood floors, the bookshelves in the background, and these two fluffy white chairs? It's giving cozy reading nook energy and I am here for it.

Recliner arrived and was assembled by some friends with minimum effort. It operated great with movements, heat and massage functions. There was one item that was not identified in the Owners manual or the Assembly guide and that is a small flat pad carped on one side and rubberized on the other that is about the size of the seat. I would like to know what that item is?
I've slept so much better in this chair, I need surgery and will be living in it for at least 2 months. This is really helping me sleep, and post op to get up.
I love this chair. I bought it for my wife who is in assisted living.Un packing two cartons was completed in minutes. Assembly no tools were needed. The assembly instructions were excellent. The recliner was assembled in fifteen minutes. This recliner is not a bulky overstuffed recliner. It was an excellent choice to select this chair.
I'm having back surgery soon and this chair is a must-have for me. 10x more comfortable than my other recliner. I'm 6'5" & 250 lbs and fit comfortably on the ET version. My head rests on the headrest (goes past most others) and my feet don't hang off the footrest because of the extension piece.
Nice size for my elderly mother. Lift is slow but im sure its safer that way. Easy to assemble. Came in two boxes. Nice looking chair. Seems comfortable.

Putting it together we needed extra set of hands as it was a bit heavy.
Everything works well. Only con is my husband feels the extension on the foot rest could be a wee bit higher while it’s extended.

Very comfortable, perfect size and support; plus, we were a bit apprehensive about the faux leather being too hot but it isn't. These chairs seem to be well built and sturdy.
So far it is a great chair bought 2 for my parents whom are 91 years of age. Difficult to walk and this chair helps with standing them, it just does so much more than i had even thought to research! Great on quality beauty just love them!
