The 9205L is the tall version of the same plush build — deep grid-tufted back, thick bolster arms, three-panel seat — with a longer seat and a taller back, so taller users get support all the way up instead of stopping at the shoulders. Rated to 400 lbs and sized for roughly 5'7" to 6'6".
2nd Generation Upgrade. Redesigned around real customer feedback:
Dual-Motor System. The backrest and the footrest move independently, so you can hold any position between fully upright and a true 180° lay-flat — not just a handful of fixed presets. The lift function brings you smoothly and safely to standing.
Lumbar heat and 4-mode back massage help ease muscle tension through the day.
Some people want a chair that holds them firmly. Others want to sink in. The 9205 is built for the second kind — deep grid-tufted back, thick bolster arms, a three-panel seat. The 9205L is that same build made for taller bodies: a longer seat and a taller back, so support runs all the way up instead of stopping at the shoulders. Rated to 400 lb, sized for about 5'7" to 6'6".

Built for taller and broader users — about 5'7" to 6'6", rated to 400 lb. Measured from the factory drawing.

Why this one feels different
The deep grid-tufted back keeps the padding in place instead of letting it flatten into a slab over time. Thick bolster arms sit high enough to rest your forearms without shrugging your shoulders up. The three-panel seat divides the cushion so it supports the thighs and the seat separately rather than sagging as one piece.
It's a fully-cushioned chair — the opposite of the firm, flat heavy-duty look.
That is what makes the difference at hour three rather than minute three.
For people who want to sink in.

The L is for length
Two changes make the 9205L a taller person's chair rather than just a wide one: a taller back, so your shoulders and neck are still on the chair instead of above it, and a longer seat with an extended footrest, so your calves and heels are carried instead of hanging.
At a true 180° lay-flat the chair measures 83" end to end — the number that decides whether stretching out actually works at 6'6".
For the owners who tell us they rest — or sleep — in the chair rather than the bed, that length is the difference between propping yourself up and actually stretching out.

The extended footrest, rebuilt
A longer footrest is also a longer lever arm, so it has to carry more load. The footrest steel plate is 5 mm thick — 66% thicker than the first generation (up from 3 mm), and extended it now sits about 2" (5 cm) higher, because heavier legs push a standard footrest down under load.
We didn't simply make the pad longer.
Four side pockets — two on each side, positioned higher so the remote and your essentials stay within reach without bending down, even while reclined. USB-A and USB-C charging ports, so a phone or tablet charges from the chair.
Underneath: an upgraded hardwood frame redesigned for greater structural stability and a longer service life, over a reinforced steel frame rebuilt for heavy-duty daily use.

Two controls, each doing one job
The backrest and the footrest run on separate motors, each on its own button, so you can hold any position between fully upright and flat. The second control handles lumbar heat and 4-mode back massage to ease muscle tension through the day.
Getting up shouldn't be the hard part
The lift base tilts the whole chair forward and brings you smoothly and safely toward your feet — controlled the whole way, steady at 400 lb. It's the help that matters most after surgery, with sore knees or hips, or on the days standing up just takes more.
The 9205L ships in 2 boxes that may arrive on different days — don't worry if they don't come together. Assembly is tool-free in a few simple steps, but the boxes are heavy: we recommend two people to move them into place.
Fully assembled it measures 46.5"H × 40.5"W, and reclines to 83" end to end. Leave clearance behind the chair to reach the full 180°.
The same upholstery can look different in daylight, under warm lamps, and in cool light — and every screen shows color a little differently. If a particular shade matters to you, ask us before you order.

Same plush build and the same 400 lb rating — the 9205L adds a taller back and a longer seat with an extended footrest, for users up to about 6'6". The 9205 is sized for about 5'7"–6'3".
Both are 400 lb chairs with an extended footrest — the difference is the feel. The 9205L is the plush build: deep grid-tufted back, thick bolster arms, three-panel seat, 83" reclined. The 9188ET is the streamlined build: clean panel-stitched back, padded pillow arms, single-panel seat, 81" reclined. Choose by how you like to sit.
Yes — a true 180° lay-flat, with the backrest and footrest set independently anywhere between 105° and 180°. At full recline the chair measures 83" end to end.
