The 9205 EWT500 brings the same plush build — deep grid-tufted back, thick bolster arms, three-panel seat — in a taller frame with a longer seat and extended footrest, so taller users are supported from head to heel. Rated to 500 lbs and sized for roughly 6' to 6'5".

Triple-Motor System. Two 400 lb motors drive the footrest and the lift together — 800 lbs of combined force, far beyond the 500 lb capacity, so the motors never work at their limit. Twin lift rods carry that load on both sides of the frame rather than through a single point. A third motor powers the backrest independently, so you can set the back and the footrest separately.

Engineered for heavier daily use:

  • 45-density high-resilience foam — an all-foam build specified for the 500 lb models, chosen for how it holds its shape under heavier weight over years of use.
  • Upgraded hardwood frame — redesigned for greater structural stability and a longer service life.
  • Reinforced steel frame — rebuilt for heavy-duty daily use.
  • 66% thicker footrest steel plate — up from 3 mm to 5 mm (0.12" to 0.2") vs. the 1st generation, for significantly greater footrest stability under heavier legs. Extended, it now sits about 2" (5 cm) higher than the 1st generation.
  • 20,000-cycle tested — the lift mechanism is tested to 20,000 full operations.

Reclines to 165°. At 500 lb capacity, 165° is the recline this chair is engineered to hold — deep enough to stretch out fully, with your back and legs supported at every position in between. The frame and mechanism are built to keep holding it that way for years.

The 9205 EWT500 is our widest, tallest frame: 46" overall width, a deep seat, and a taller back that carries you from head to heel. Rated to 500 lb and sized for 6' to 6'7". If other “big” chairs still leave you perched on the edge, this is the one built for you.

Two 400 lb motors drive the footrest and lift together — 800 lb of combined force, far beyond the 500 lb rating, so the motors never work at their limit. Twin lift rods carry that load on both sides of the frame, not through a single point. The footrest steel plate is 66% thicker than the first generation (3 mm to 5 mm), on an upgraded hardwood frame with 45-density high-resilience foam. The lift mechanism is tested to 20,000 full cycles — SGS certified.

That is what decides comfort over long stretches rather than the first ten minutes: at 500 lb an ordinary cushion compresses early, and you end up sitting on the frame instead of in the chair. A denser foam is the difference between hour one and hour four.

The extended footrest supports your legs fully, even at a deep 165° recline. 165° is the recline this chair is engineered to hold at 500 lb — deep enough to stretch out completely, with the frame supporting you securely at every position in between, year after year.

Owners do rest — and sleep — in this chair rather than the bed. Within the 105°–165° range the backrest and footrest still set independently, so you can stop wherever your body wants and the extended footrest carries your legs to the heel rather than leaving them hanging.

Getting it into your home

Two branded boxes, tool-free assembly.

The 9205 EWT500 ships in 2 boxes (Box 1: 43.3" × 19.7" × 34.6"; Box 2: 42.9" × 32.7" × 21.7") that may arrive on different days — don't worry if they don't come together. Each box fits through a standard doorway, and assembly is tool-free in a few simple steps. The boxes are heavy — we recommend two people to move them into place. Fully assembled it measures 47"H × 46"W × 44.5"D; leave about 22" of wall clearance to fully recline (25" for comfortable everyday use).

I am very happy with this chair. The overall quality is excellent, and it feels sturdy, well-made, and built to last. I really do love this chair. I love the ease of movement and it is so comfortable and plush definitely enough room and the massage is great. Everything is great. My only critique is that the foot rest extender you can’t get it put down while it’s reclined, unless you have really strong legs and can pull your knees up to your chin and then put it down with your heels which I don’t and can’t, but you can’t put it down while it’s not reclined either but other than that it’s an awesome Chair.
