The 9188S was not made by shrinking a standard recliner. The lift mechanism itself was rebuilt at a smaller scale, so the seat measures 18 inches across, 18 inches deep and 18 inches high — proportions a full-size chair cannot reach no matter how it is upholstered.
Fit is what decides whether this is your chair. The frame is rated to 300 lbs, but capacity is not the question here — size is. This one is built for smaller bodies:
- Height roughly 4'7" to 5'5"
- Hips up to about 18 inches
- Weight up to roughly 120 lbs
If that describes you, a smaller chair will do something a larger one cannot: hold your lower back where it actually sits. In an oversized recliner the lumbar curve lands in a gap and the support never reaches you. At this scale it meets you properly — which is why the fit matters more than the feature list.
Second-Generation Upgrade — built from owner feedback.
- Four side pockets, repositioned higher — owners told us the old pockets meant bending down. Now the remote and your essentials sit within easy reach, even while reclined.
- 18 W fast-charge USB-A and USB-C — enough to charge a phone or tablet properly, not just trickle it.
- Externally replaceable charging module — the port unit releases from the outside of the chair, so it can be swapped without taking anything apart.
Tuned for longer sitting. We reworked both the seat and the backrest based on what owners told us about sitting for hours rather than minutes.
Upgraded heating, across the seat as well as the back. The heating element itself was upgraded, and heat now covers a large area of the seat cushion rather than the backrest alone — so the warmth reaches more of you.
S-spring lumbar support. We added S-springs through the lumbar section, so the lower back is held rather than left to sink. On a smaller frame this matters more, not less.
Dual motors move the backrest and footrest independently, with infinite positions including a full 180° lay-flat, 4-mode back massage, and lift assist that helps make the transition to standing easier and more controlled.

Please measure before you order. Everyone is built differently, and with a small-frame chair the margin is narrower than usual. The best chair is not the biggest one — it is the one that fits your body.
